New members are always welcome! The unit meets in the homes of its members on the last Thursday evening of each month. These meetings plan events and take care of Battery business as well as providing a time to share Civil War research and information.
Yearly dues are $12.00 per person, payable in January, and are prorated for new members who join during the calendar year. Membership includes Action Front, the monthly newsletter of the Second Minnesota Battery. The newsletter informs members of unit events and activities. It also provides history of the Battery, research in The Ladies Corner, and other articles of interest to reenactors. Action Front subscriptions for non-members are $6.00 per year.
The unit attends at least one event per month from April through October. Attending one national event is considered each year.
1860's clothing is purchased by individual reenactors. The Battery has resources for new members to locate clothing and persona information. A full uniform for a soldier can cost up to $450.00 or more, depending on accouterments desired, but can be done over a period of time.
